Pack 43's Pinewood Derby Racing Action
General Scout News     First and most importantly...Great Job to each Cub on their fine derby car building skills. By far the best looking group of cars, yet!!
On March 2nd, Sam Costenbader, Bobby Hebert, Jared Garcia, Owen Roth and Brandon Weimer finished in the Top 5 and will advance to the North Valley District race on 3-27-10. Good Luck!!!

   Congrats to Mr. Costenbader (Webelos Leader) for finishing 1st in the Leader-Crew-Parent/Sibling match-up. His daughter, Alex finished 2nd, Chris Snyder 3rd, both representing Venture Crew 470, Calista Costenbader in 4th and Mr. Joe Brady, CubMaster 43, in 5th place.
                                What a night!!!
   Cubs, you'll have another night of racing at our Spring Open House, just for fun!!!

Webelos Winter Event
Webelos Den News Webelos from 43 brought home a bronze medal from this years Winter Event, 3rd place out of over a dozen Packs competing. Great job young men!!! Hope you had a terrific time!!!
Thank you Leaders for your help and preparation efforts!

JAMBO 100 Early Registration
General Scout News Minsi Trails Council has extended the Early Registration deadline due to the weathers affect on Pack and Troop schedules. Therefore, if you plan to attend May's Jambo, please let Mr. Brink know Tuesday March 2nd so we can make the deadline. Money is not due on the 2nd, but will be accepted at that time if you wish to pay.
Early registration gets you a discount and a free patch.

The dens going to WFMZ are still on.

Tuesday February 16th Meeting
General Scout News If Northampton Area School District or Sacred Heart School is closed Tuesday or closes early, Scouts will not meet.

Parents, be on the Look-Out for an email containing Pack News Update in your inbox sometime this week with information on upcoming events.

Pinewood Derby is March 2nd, how are the cars coming along?? Remember to follow the NV District rules that were handed out recently and build the cars to those spec's. Good Luck and Have Fun!!!!!

Candy Sale has been extended, there are 16 carriers available on a first come basis. 35% goes to your son's Cub Account and can be used for event fees, registration, etc...

February 9ths Meeting ?? SNOW ??
General Scout News We'll keep you posted as to the status of this evenings mtg. due to pending storm. As of 3PM, den's will be meeting at Church or at the Liberty Bell Shrine, Allentown, depending on what your den leader had planned. In the event of canceling, your son's den leader will be in contact with you and/or check back to the website for details.

TROOP 43 RETURNS FROM KLONDIKE DERBY @ SNOWBOUND
Events that include the Crew Congratulations Troop 43 on their 4th place finish at this years SNOWBOUND/Klondike Derby at Camp Trexler, Jonas, PA. Approximately 40 Troops entered patrols in this years event, so for Troop 43 to bring home 4th place means our older brothers really know their Scouting 'stuff'. Many of them were Cub Scouts in Pack 43. Congratulations again Scouts!!!

Year End Pack Trip
General Scout News VOTING IS CLOSED, AFTER COUNTING THE VOTES COLLECTED AT A RECENT MEETING AND ADDING THEM TO THE ONLINE POLL......DELAWARE RIVER ADVENTURE IS THE WINNER!!! CLOSELY FOLLOWED BY THE DC TRIP. DETAILS TO FOLLOW AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. THANK YOU FOR VOTING.


The suggestions are in.....We have 3 choices to vote on.

1) Bus Trip to the Smithsonian in Washington DC.

2) Philly Trip- includes a 24hr pass to the tour bus that runs through Philly with stops at 20 places of interest. Ride the entire circuit, take the sightseeing tour and then get off at the places that interest you.

3) Delaware River Adventure- Sat. hike up to Sunfish Pond, Fish, lunch and explore and then hike back down. Sat. evening camping w/ a Monster Quest and Sunday morning...Panning for Gold in the Delaware river. (Lazy, shallow portion of the river great for a lesson in geology and maybe someone will find some gold dust or a nugget.)
